Baby Jie Kie

by Margo Dunlop
(Glasgow, Scotland)

Our little Grandson, Jie Kie who is three months old, has come to stay for 3 weeks this Christmas. Ruby is not used to babies, but has taken to him so ovewhelmingly. She brings her toys to him and drops them where he is. Being responsible, we would never leave them alone, although in my heart Ruby would never intentionally do anything to hurt him, but she is a big dog and he is a little baby, therefore we have to protect them both.

However, it is a great joy to see Ruby so well integrated into our family, as the grandchildren in my sister's family were much older. She has never really been around babies. But true to the "Golden Retriever" gentle nature Ruby has shown what a wonderful breed they are. A Star, is what she is.

A Very Merry Christmas to you all and a wonderful 2011, to both man and animals.
