Finding the True Cause of Dog Vomiting
Finding the true cause of dog vomiting can be confusing as there are multiple possibilities. Often it is because of some dietary issue such as over-eating, eating too quickly, eating spoiled food.
Allergy to certain food can also cause vomiting, a more long-term chronic type of vomiting.
But, other causes can be linked to issues with internal organs such as the stomach, liver, kidneys. Below I have listed some of these causes broken down by organ system:
Stomach
Gastritis (inflammation of the lining of the stomach)
Hiatal hernia (stomach location is higher that it should be)
Stomach ulceration ((a crater-like formation in the stomach lining)
Obstruction (foreign bodies such as toys, fruit pits)
Telescoping of the intestine
Stomach cancer
Intestine
Infections (such as parvovirus)
Worms
Inflammatory disease of the bowels (usually a chronic condition)
Intestinal cancer
Other organs
Pancreatitis (infection or inflammation of the pancreas)
