Dog Age Calculator

Do you want to know how old your dog is in human years? Use the cool dog age calculator below to find out dog age in human years. This dog age calculator takes your dog's size and age into account to tell you the true dog age in human years.

There are many different ways that I have heard of that are used to make this dog to human age calculation. One way is to simply multiply the dog's age in years by 7, to get his/her age in human years. So, for instance, a 10 year old dog is roughly equivalent to a 70 year old human by this method. Another way I have heard of is that since dogs mature earlier, the first year of a dog's life is roughly equal to 16 years, and then every year after that is about 4 human years. By this method, a 10 year old dog is 52 years old (= 16 + 9*4). As you can see, these methods provide widely differing answers. Also, generally speaking, smaller dogs seem to have a longer life span than larger dogs, and none of these methods seemed to take the size of the dog into account at all. So I created the below calculators, which take into account the dog's size as well as his/her age.

Please choose the correct calculator, based on whether your dog is less than 2 years old, or more than that. And remember to click on the "Click to Edit" button to start entering your information.
