Goldens excel across the board -- whether it is in conformation, obedience, agility or perhaps most importantly, as loving family companions.
It is important to remember that even though all Golden Retrievers share their origins, history and general characteristics, no two dogs are the same. Each has his own personality and traits that give him his unique character.
Although there are innumerable ways to describe this multi-faceted breed, one way is to break down the information into two categories -- appearance and temperament .
As far as looks go, Goldens can have quite distinct appearances (as you can see from the photos on this site). Their temperaments, however, do not vary as much. They generally tend to be even-tempered, eager to learn and vastly endearing.
