Golden Paws

by Larry

Does anyone know the reason why Goldies love to put their paws on you? I don't mean that they stand up, but they just come over and put a paw on you, as if they are saying "You and I belong together."

Response from Golden-Retriever-Magic:

Hi Larry,

In response to your question...

You are absolutely right -- Goldens are convinced that they and their humans belong together! :-) Really, I think that putting their paws on people (and yes, our Goldens do that as well) is a way of getting attention and showing affection. It's like saying, "Hey, I'm here and I love you!" Goldens thrive on physical contact and petting, and it's almost impossible not to pet them after their pawing gesture!
