My First Golden Retriever
Amazing Aisha

Our first Golden Retriever Aisha was an absolute gem. She was the kindest creature I have ever met. She was golden in color (as opposed to reddish or light gold) with the sweetest face and the most loving expression. We got this absolutely beautiful girl from Hollister, California.

I still remember seeing her amidst her many brothers (she was the only girl left by the time we got there). The owner of her mother and father had made a makeshift playpen with stacks of hay laid down to enclose a square area. There they were — all 6 of them (our soon-to-be Aisha and her 5 brothers).

All were bumbling around, playing and tumbling, tugging and biting. There is no sight cuter than a cadre of Golden Retriever puppies at play! Golden Retriever in snow, Golden Retriever, dog, dog in snow, smart dog When the puppies were brought outside to play with us, one little ball of fluff came straight up to my wife and leapt on her — yes, that was Aisha. She grabbed the strap of my wife's purse and tugged as hard as she could. And the connection that was established at that moment continued throughout Aisha's life and ours, getting deeper by the day.

Little did I realize that would be the beginning of one of the most beautiful, loving and cherished relationships of my life. That darling Golden showed me a whole new world of wonder, excitement, devotion, dedication, loyalty.

Aisha was one of the most loving and intelligent dogs I have ever encountered. She went on to live for over 10 years and she filled every day of ours with joy, delight and love.
