Golden Retriever Toys
Hours of Chewing Pleasure

Your Golden Retriever puppy has an inherent need to chew. Golden Retriever toys, in particular dog chew toys, can help direct that need in a positive manner.

Chew toys are useful in building your Golden Retriever's jaws. Keep in mind that they were initially bred as retrievers of wild game ( history section ) -- and so had to use their mouths routinely.

Also these toys help sharpen her teeth (especially useful when she is teething ). Her gums stay clean through constant massage.

In addition to these healthful reasons, chew toys are great as they provide hours of entertainment for the puppy. Especially when you are gone and the puppy is home alone, the toys will keep her from getting bored. Some toys even have center fillings to give a slow release of flavor.

Try to get plenty of differently textured toys. Make sure none of these can break off into smaller bits as your Golden Retriever puppy can swallow those bits and choke. Rawhide bones are prone to breaking off into smaller pieces. Hard plastic bones are good choices as they provide hours of chewing enjoyment for your puppy with little risk of choking.

Below, I have listed some dog toys that you may want to look at -- not only chew toys, but others as well. I have also included specific comments on each of them, so that you can select those that will work best for your Golden. Please rest assured -- all orders go through Amazon's secure server.

Chewing toys are useful to your Golden Retriever in many ways: building jaws, sharpening teeth, keeping gums clean, giving flavor and providing hours of entertainment.
