Grooming Golden Retrievers
Dog Grooming Supplies and Brushes

Grooming Golden Retrievers keeps them looking their tip-top best. Which dog grooming supplies you buy is important in keeping your Golden Retriever looking as gorgeous as possible. Start getting your Golden Retriever puppy used to the grooming process early on.

In this section, I am going to focus on their beautiful coats. To keep their long coats looking lustrous, you should have at least 3 types of brushes -- a pin brush, slicker brush and bristle brush.

First, use a pin brush to rid the coat of dead hair and foreign materials such as lint, dirt and so on. Second, a slicker brush is needed to remove loose or shed hair. It also serves to settle the fine undercoat and the overlying feathering. Finally, use a bristle brush to settle the topcoat. This process gives the Golden Retriever her characteristic shine.

Other tools that prove useful include: a fine toothed comb, nail clippers and scissors, grooming sprays, shampoos/conditioners, toothbrushes/toothpastes, ear cleaning solution.

Use three different types of brushes to give your Golden Retriever's coat its marvelous luster.
