Our Miracle to Our Life

by Karen Smith
(kEYPORT, nEW jERSEY)

We have Emy and she is the best animal that we ever had. I always wanted a Golden Retreiver but could not ever find one that did not cost a small fortune. There was an add in the paper for free golden retreivers, we called and found that Emy had been abused and came to us very thin and scared of everything. She would not even go in any of the rooms in our house and stayed in the kitchen all the time. She would not eat for a couple of days and after six years is still scared of the sight of a broom. She has been our life and is the sweetest dog we ever knew. She greets at the front door when we get home from work. She lays in our bedroom at the front of the bed every night. She is the SUNSHINE of our life. She has overcome many things she was scared about. We also have two cats that we rescued and they all love each other. They sleep on her and Emy cleans them all the time. We truly love her. We will never have any other type of dog, no matter how much they cost.

We also have a Golden
by: Diane

Loved your story--was sad, but then turned out to be wonderful. We have a Golden Retriever named Katie & we love her so much. She is so smart & loveable & just fills our days with joy. We would not give Katie up for anything in this world & hope we have many, many years together.

Simply The Best
by: Margo Dunlop

Hi Karen, I am really glad the Emmy found you. I agree, are't they the most beautiful, loving animals.

Ruby has been with us for four months and has settled in well with our two cats. Heather our oldest cat, a resuce cat and Ruby are great pals. Heather is 24 and failing a little, but I think these last months have been good for her having Ruby here

What an great story!
by: Golden Retriever Magic

Karen, that is really a great story. Emy sounds absolutely wonderful -- a true to form Golden!

It's wonderful too that you were able to rescue her and give her this life full of love. A great deed, and in the process you got such a wonderful friend!
