Quality Dog Food and Puppy Food
Nutrition Basics

puppy eating, puppy, puppy feeding, cute puppy, Golden Retriever puppy

Nutrition is an essential part of keeping your Golden Retriever healthy. High quality dog food and puppy food are essential for your Golden's optimal growth and development. Remember that dog food and puppy food are different since your puppy's requirements will change as she matures into an adult dog. It is important for you to understand her nutritional requirements and change her food accordingly.

The best place to start your research is with your breeder . The breeder is usually an expert in puppy nutrition and has already started your Golden Retriever puppy on a well-balanced diet.

In the first few weeks after you bring your Golden Retriever puppy home, you should feed her the exact same food she has been getting with the breeder. So make sure that before your Golden comes home, you buy the exact puppy food the breeder has been giving your puppy. This continuity is important to keep her digestive system stable. Also, remember that so much in her young life is going to change when she leaves the breeder to come to your house -- you don't want to add to that by changing her food also.

Look here for how and when to change to adult food .

What you feed your Golden puppy is important in keeping him healthy. At least in the beginning, make sure to continue the same food the breeder was giving your puppy.
