Training Your Dog to Stay

Training your dog to stay can be quite easy as long as you use some dog training basic obedience tips. As long as you follow some basic principles, your Golden will learn correctly and quickly.

Also, it is quite fulfilling to train him as you can see the fruits of your labor quite quickly. Goldens are smart and will start following your commands soon after you start the training process.

Training your dog to stay is a very useful command. It tells her to restrict her movement and maintain the position she is in (either sit-stay or down-stay).

Every day I find many uses for this command. I use it to prevent Daizy from darting around when we stop on our walks, jumping on unsuspecting "admirers," disturbing us when we are eating and so on.

You too will soon find this command indispensible. Watch this video showing an expert training a Golden Retriever on how to "Stay" on command.
